Russian soprano Oxana Shilova is a leading soloist of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and a guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. She has collaborated with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Plácido Domingo, Pablo Heras-Casado, Gianandrea Noseda, Vladimir Fedoseev, Vasily Petrenko, Tugan Sokhiev, Mickhael Güttler, Nikolay Znaider, Constantine Orbelian, Mikhail Tatarnikov, Fabio Mastrangelo, Yuri Bashmet, Mikhail Agrest and Alexandr Titov.
Shilova’s signature roles include Violetta, Desdemona, Madame Cortese and Mrs. Alice Ford. Under the baton of Valery Gergiev she recently made outstanding performances alongside Plácido Domingo as Giorgio Germont at the “Stars of the White Nights International Arts Festival” in July 2018 and as Mrs. Alice Ford at Mariinsky Theatre in the new production of Andrea De Rosa in May 2018. As Madame Cortese she was a regular guest of many leading opera houses in France.
Oxana Shilova has worked on the most prestigious international stages such as the Metropolitan Opera (covers in 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15), Palau de les arts Reina Sofia, Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse, Opéra National de Montpellier, Opéra National de Bordeaux, De Nederlandse Opera and the Bergen National Opera. She worked with stage directors such as Charles Roubaud, Alain Maratrat, Francesca Zambello, Stephen Lawless, Michael Mayer, Isabella Bywater, Claudia Solti, Andrea De Rosa and Vasily Barkhatov.
As a regular guest of international festivals and concert houses Shilova’s recital and concert repertoire features bel canto arias, Russian arias and song repertoire. She has appeared at Wigmore Hall, Barbican Center, Kennedy Center, NHK Hall, Suntory Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, Serate Musicali and many other concert halls in Russia, Asia and Europe.
Festival highlights include the Stars of the White Nights in St. Petersburg (2008-2018), Moscow Easter Festival, Baden-Baden, Edinburgh, Baltic Sea Festival and the Ljubljana Festival.
During the upcoming season 2018/2019 Oxana will sing Violetta at the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theater, Mrs. Alice Ford, Madame Cortese and Donna Anna at her home stage in St. Petersburg. Other roles in her repertoire include Nedda (Pagliacci), Countess Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Iolanta, Leonora (Trovatore) and Marguerite (Faust).
