After studying percussion at the Marenzio Conservatory in Brescia, Romina Tomasoni received her degree of Opera Singer, graduating Magna cum Laude from the same institute under the guidance of mezzo-soprano Ida Bormida. In 2005, Romina received an honorary diploma from the ‘High Perfection Artistic Course for Chorus Artists’ from the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and in 2006, she participated in the ‘Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Vocal Arts Academy’. She is currently studying with Maestro Luciano Roberti.

Her performances to date include: in 2008, the role of one of the six Dinerinnen in Elektra, under the baton of Maestro Seiji Ozawa and directed by R. Carsen for the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; and in the same venue, the cover role of Mercedes in Carmen with Maestro Zubin Mehta, under the direction of Carlos Saura; in April 2009, the role of Giovanna in Ernani, conducted by Maestro A. Pirolli, under the direction of B. De Tomasi, in the Teatro Bellini in Catania; in 2009, Servilia in Tito Manlio in Ravenna for the Teatro Alighieri, under the baton of Maestro S. Montanari, A. Pizzech conducting; in 2010, she was at the Salzburgfestspiele and the Ravenna Festival, performing the cover role of Giuditta in Betulia Liberata, conducted by Maestro R. Muti, under the direction of M. Gandini; in April, she was in Milan at the Teatro alla Scala, and in June 2010, she was in Wien, Theather an der Wien, performing the role of Ihre Mutter in Berg’s Lulu, conducted by Maestro D. Gatti, under the direction of P. Stein; in July 2010; she was Alto at the Tirolerfestspiele in Erl conducted by Maestro G. Kuhn; in July 2011, she was La Baronessa di Champigny in Il Cappello di paglia  with Maestro S. Alapont/A. Cigni, at the  Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; in October 2011, she was Quickly in Falstaff for the Festival Verdi in Parma conducetd by Maestro A. Battistoni/S. Medcalf; in March 2012, she was Second Lady in Die Zauberfloete, with Maestro E. Nielsen, under the direction of D. McVicar at the Teatro dell’ opera di Roma; in August 2012, she was Alto in H. Suter’s Oratorio Le Laudi, with Maestro S. Gaudenz and the RAI Orchestra at the Teatro del Lingotto in Turin; in November 2012, she was Fenena in Nabucco with Maestro A. Allemandi/S. Poda in Rovigo, Padova and Bassano del Grappa;  in December 2012, she was Zita in Gianni Schicchi  with Maestro G. d’Espinosa/ M. deCarlo at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; in April 2013, she was Third Lady in Die Zauberfloete for the Palau de les arts Valencia with Maestro O. Dantone/ S. Medcalf.

Romina Tomasoni has won different competitions including: the ‘II Concorso Rami Musicali’ in Fucecchio Florence; the ‘59th Concorso per Giovani Cantanti Lirici As. Li. Co’; first prize in the “IV International Competition Città di Pisa” dedicated to Titta Ruffo; second prize in the ‘XV International Competition for young operatic singers Riccardo Zandonai’; the third prize in the ‘III Renata Tebaldi International Competition’ in San Marino; the third prize in the ‘XXV Concorso Iris Adami Corradetti’ in Padua; and the first prize in the ‘Concorso Internazionale di Musica Sacra 2010’ in Rome; and the third prize in the ‘Concorso Internazionale di Musica Barocca Cesti’ in Innsbruck. 

Her recent and future engagements include: Flora in L'Incoronazione di Dario in Turin; Zita in Gianni Schicchi in Montpellier; Governante/Anna in Resurrezione at Wexford Festival recital in London with Rosetta Cucchi; and a concert in Jena, with the Jena Jenaer Philarmonie.
