The Angers Nantes Opéra presents “L’Amour sorcier” and “La Vie brève”, two major works by Manuel de Falla that blend the power of Andalusian rhythm with the intensity of Spanish lyricism. Under the direction of Roberto Forés Veses, these scores unfold the vibrant colors of cante jondo and flamenco, transformed into orchestral and vocal brilliance.

Among the cast, Carlos Natale performs the role of Paco in La Vie brève, a tragically passionate character at the heart of Falla’s only lyric drama.

Written during Falla’s Parisian years, “La Vie brève” stands as a powerful evocation of the people of Granada, their loves and their struggles, while “L’Amour sorcier”, composed a decade later, extends this world into a realm of mysticism and dance. Together, the two works reveal Falla’s profound ability to capture both the soul and spirit of Spain.
