Described by Rondo Magazine as "probably the most successful German cellist of the present day", Raphaela Gromes has been an exclusive Sony Classical artist since 2016, renowned for her elegance, technical perfection, and expressive depth.
She gained early recognition through innovative programs and world premiere recordings, including works by Offenbach, Klengel, and Capuis, earning prestigious awards such as the OPUS Klassik and Diapason d'Or.
Committed to highlighting forgotten female composers, her acclaimed album Femmes topped the German classical charts for months. She performs worldwide at major venues with leading orchestras and conductors, and forms a celebrated duo with pianist Julian Riem. Deeply engaged in humanitarian efforts, she recently performed in Kyiv with the Ukrainian National Orchestra, with whom she also recorded her latest album and is currently touring internationally.
