October 17th – November 1st | Marcus Bosch conducting “Le trouvère” by Giuseppe Verdi at Wexford Festival Opera

Conductor Marcus Bosch takes the podium for a rare and exciting production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Le trouvère – the French version of Il trovatore – at the O’Reilly Theatre, National Opera House, as part of the 74th Wexford Festival Opera.

With a libretto by Émilien Pacini based on Salvadore Cammarano’s original, and sung in French with English surtitles, Le trouvère offers a unique opportunity to experience Verdi’s beloved opera reimagined as a Grand Opéra, including the rarely performed ballet music and several significant revisions to the score.

This staging promises a renewed dramatic and visual impact under the direction of Ben Barnes and the design of Liam Doona, who describe the piece as an ideal starting point for both seasoned audiences and newcomers: "The music is fantastic, incredibly engaging, and really accessible as a piece as well." - Liam Doona.
