Marcus Bosch will conduct the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock for the 10th Philharmonic Concert of the season, titled “Abschied”.
After opening the season with Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 7, the Chief Conductor concludes the Philharmonic Concert series with Mahler’s Symphony No. 9, the composer’s last completed work.
Written in Toblach and New York, the Ninth Symphony is a vast and deeply expressive score, often read as a farewell: a work looking back with melancholy while reaching the threshold of musical modernity.
The three evenings at Rostock’s Halle 207 will open with Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Violin Concerto in E minor, performed by the Spanish violinist Leticia Moreno.
