Marcus Bosch

May 16th – 17th | Marcus Bosch conducts Mahler 7th Symphony at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona

The acclaimed German conductor Marcus Bosch returns to the podium of Fondazione Arena di Verona, leading the Orchestra in Gustav Mahler’s Seventh Symphony, a milestone of the composer’s mature symphonic output.

Nicknamed Nachtlied (Canto della notte) for its nocturnal atmosphere and evocative content, the symphony - completed in 1906 and premiered two years later - draws inspiration from moonlit reflections seen during a night crossing on the alpine lake of Maiernigg.

Listeners are guided through mysterious marches, ghostly scherzos, and serenades coloured by mandolins and distant cowbells, culminating in a jubilant final rondo. A total and unforgettable musical journey, performed for the first time in over fifty years of the Arena's symphonic programming.

Program:
- G. Mahler, Symphony no. 7 in E minor
