April 12th | Maria Badstue conducts the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice
A powerful musical journey awaits at the Philharmonique de Nice under the baton of our Danish conductor Maria Badstue, leading a program that spans from the lyricism of Beethoven to the rhythmic energy of Bartók.
Renowned violinist Sarah Nemtanu, celebrated for her expressive artistry and virtuosic brilliance, takes on the monumental Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 by Ludwig van Beethoven, a cornerstone of the violin repertoire and a precursor to the great Romantic concertos.
The evening continues with Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, composed during his American exile in the 1940s. This modern masterpiece breaks traditional forms by giving each section of the orchestra a soloistic voice, creating a thrilling and dynamic musical tapestry.
Program: - L. van Beethoven, Violin Concerto in D major, op. 61 - B. Bartók, Concerto for orchestra
