July 17th | Maya Oganyan & Hisako Kawamura with Orchestra Giovanile Italiana in Montepulciano
The magnificent setting of the Tempio di San Biagio in Montepulciano will host a refined evening dedicated to the piano concertos of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as part of the prestigious Mozart Series: Amadeus e le Virtuose. The concert features the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana conducted by Giovanni Conti and two brilliant soloists: Hisako Kawamura and Maya Oganyan.
The programme includes Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 19 in F major, K. 459 and Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 488—two masterpieces of the classical repertoire.
Adding a unique dimension to the evening are two world premiere cadenzas: the first by Josef Schultewolter for K. 459 and the second by Pamela Soria for K. 488. These new works have been specially commissioned for the 50th anniversary of the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano.
This special event is held in collaboration with the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and the Ateneo Renano (Kolleg der Künste), featuring contributions from the composition classes of Brigitta Muntendorf (HfMT Köln) and Oliver Schneller (RSH), with the support of Soroptimist.
