Rory Musgrave

April 18th – 27th | Rory Musgrave as Julius in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia at Teatro Petruzzelli, Bari

Our Irish baritone Rory Musgrave returns to the operatic stage in the role of Junius in Benjamin Britten’s intense and lyrical chamber opera The Rape of Lucretia, presented by the Fondazione Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, from April 18 to 27, 2025.

This new production and scenic staging, conducted by Jordi Bernàcer and directed by Yannis Kokkos, explores themes of power, violence, and redemption with visual intensity and dramatic clarity.

Rory Musgrave joins a stellar cast including Stefanie Iranyi (Lucretia), Marco Spotti (Collatinus), and Christian Senn(Tarquinius), supported by the Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli. With his vocal depth and stage presence, Musgrave brings complexity and tension to the role of Junius, one of the opera's most psychologically layered figures.
