Born in Milan, Vittorio Parisi has studied in the Conservatoriuo G.Verdi piano, composition and conducting with Mario Gusella and Gianluigi Gelmetti. He has studied also in Holland with the famous Russian conductor Kirill Kondrashin.
Following his debut in Bari's Teatro Petruzzelli in 1979 he has conducted the principal symphonic and chamber Italian orchestras and in many Opera Houses in the country conducting both operas and concerts, including the Rome Opera House with 8 new productions in a span of 11 years..
He has conducted in Germany, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Albania, Turkey, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Kazakhstan, recording for many radio televisions of these countries
He has conducted many first performances of the most important contemporary composers working also with Berio and Cage, conducting first performances in modern era of operas of the last centuries like the American version of "L'Ape Musicale" by Da Ponte, first performances on stage like the "Sogno di un tramonto d'autunno" by Malipiero, first public performance of the Radio Opera"Don Perlimplin" by Maderna and the first performance after more than 70 years of "Marie Galante" by Weill.
Frequently guest of many important international festivals he has worked with famous soloists, singers, actors and stage directors. He has been First Conductor of the Angelicum Orchestra, Milan (1984-88) Associate Conductor of the Philarmonic Orchestra of Milan Conservatory (2000-2003), Artistic Director and Conductor of I Solisti Aquilani (2003-2005). Since 1995 he is Artistic Director and Conductor of the dèdalo ensemble, Brescia.
He has recorded both live and studio for label such as Naxos, Dynamic, Bongiovanni, Stradivarius, Nuova Era. His performance of Dvorak's New World Symphony has been selected as 1st podcast ever of New Zealand Radio.
Since 1997 he teaches Conducting in Milan Conservatoy and in the Summer Opera Workshop in Orvieto since 2013, plus a few masterclasses. He is President of the Jury or jury member of several International Conducting Competitions and founder of the “Giancarlo Facchinetti-Città di Brescia” Conducting Competition on modern and contemporary music. Recent activity as a conductor includes operas and symphonic concerts with Varna Opera House Orchestra (Bulgaria) Bacau Philarmonic Orchestra“Mihail Jora” (Romania) Sorabian National Ensemble (Germany), I Solisti Aquilani, L’Aquila (Italy), Filharmonia Kameralma in Lomza (Poland), City of Bari Symphony Orchestra and Novara Opera House for the operas “La Benedizione” by Carrara (1st world performance) and “Gianni Schicchi”.
