Story of a book, a CD, an Oscar and 250 concerts with the Maestro around the world
In 2001, at just over 72 years of age, Ennio Morricone marked a decisive turning point in his career; and in his life. He began an interminable world tour that led him to conduct his own music in concert, as never before. A few years later, he wins an Oscar for the first time and participates in a CD in which the world's greatest musicians pay tribute to his music... And he becomes a true planetary star.
Who was behind it all?
In June 2023, hase been published in Italy Luigi Caiola's book “We AII Love Ennio Morricone”, dedicated to his collaboration with the Maestro, whose manager he was from 1997 to 2015, producing 15 CDs and DVDs and giving birth for the first time to a full-fledged concert career for the Maestro up to the Oscar, obtained for the first time in 2007.
The most important recording work produced by Luigi Caiola is the CD “We AII Love Ennio Morricone” which features, in addition to the Maestro himself who wrote most of the scores and orchestral transitions between tracks, international artists perforimg, each in their own way, Morricone's music (Quincy Jones, Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Roger Waters, Herbie Hancock, Andrea Bocelli, Yo-Yo Ma, and others).
Many artists around the world are rightly giving life to a multitude of tribute concerts dedicated to Ennio Morricone's music; few, however, can boast a professional, artistic and human collaboration with him.
And this is precisely the key factor of the show “We all love Ennio Morricone”, based on audio and video materials made or approved by the Maestro himself, on Luigi Caiola's memories, and on the artistic testimony of a number of musicians who have shared their careers with the Maestro for more than two decades, both in recording studios and in live concerts around the world.
The list of the show features pieces by Morricone performed with orchestrations and arrangements faithful to the originals recorded in the CD “We all love Ennio Morricone” and in the many other live abd studio productions made by Luigi Caiola with the Maestro.
On stage, together with some of the artists who have collaborated with Morricone for decades an actor/narrator leads the audience on a journey into the memory of those who were protagonists of that time, telling episodes, anecdotes and events from Luigi Caiola's memoir book.
The live performances will be interspersed with fragments of the video My Life, My Music where Morricone talks about himself and his music with photos and images from his private archive.
The track list includes the best-known Morricone's titles: Once Upon a Time in the West; The Good, the Bad, the Ugly; A Fistful of Dynamite; The Ecstasy of Gold; The Mission; Once Upon a Time in America; Cinema Paradiso; Malena; Love Affair. and many others.
