Our Mezzosoprano Zuzanna Klemańska takes part in the timeless operetta “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss II returns to the stage of the Krakow Opera in a vivid and elegant production directed and choreographed by Janusz Józefowicz.

Set in a 19th-century Viennese resort, Die Fledermaus is one of the most beloved operettas ever written, a sparkling comedy of disguises, misunderstandings and social satire. Strauss’ music, composed in just a few weeks, combines irresistible waltzes and polkas with theatrical flair, capturing the spirit of Old Vienna with freshness and lightness that remain timeless.

This production draws inspiration from the celebrated Polish translation by poet Julian Tuwim, shaping a performance that is humorous, refined and visually rich.
