Gabriel Prokofiev

November 8th | Gabriel Prokofiev and the Lyatoshynsky Trio present “Shadows & Lights” in Berlin

After the debut at the NFM in Wrocław, composer Gabriel Prokofiev will join the Lyatoshynsky Trio at the historic Spiegelsaal of Clärchens Ballhaus in Berlin for “Shadows & Lights”, a concert combining classical chamber music with contemporary electronic sounds.

The programme opens with Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Trio No. 3 in C minor, Op. 1, followed by Ukrainian composer Zoltan Almashi's Somewhere There is Light.

The second part features Gabriel Prokofiev's Dark Lights for piano trio and electronics, bringing together acoustic instruments with electronic textures, deep bass and rhythms inspired by techno, grime, trap and funk. Drawing on the tradition of the classical dance suite, the composition reinterprets its rhythmic foundations through contemporary musical languages.

Program:
- L. van Beethoven, Piano Trio No. 3 in C minor, Op. 1
- Z. Almashi, Somewhere There is Light
- G. Prokofiev, Dark Lights for Piano Trio and Electronics
