Alinde Quintet

September 19th | Alinde Quintet – concert in St. Gallen

The Alinde Quintet, one of the most exciting young ensembles on the international scene, will perform in St. Gallen as part of the Meisterzyklus concert series.

For this concert, the quintet presents a program that combines classical brilliance with the rich heritage of Bohemian and Moravian music. The evening will open with Mozart’s sparkling overture from Così fan tutte, in a lively arrangement for wind quintet. From there, the program continues with Carl Nielsen’s Quintet op. 43, a cornerstone of the wind chamber repertoire, imbued with lyrical romanticism and expressive contrasts.

The Alinde Quintet will also bring forward the Czech musical tradition with Janáček’s Suite from The Cunning Little Vixen, arranged for quintet by J. Pelikán, and the rhythmic vitality of Jan Novák’s Concertino for wind quintet, a piece that adds a touch of lightness and swing to the evening.

Program:
- W. A. Mozart, Overture from Così fan tutte (arr. J. Jerkert)
- C. Nielsen, Wind Quintet op. 43
- L. Janáček, Suite from The Cunning Little Vixen (arr. J. Pelikán)
- J. Novák, Concertino for Wind Quintet
