Latvian pianist Georgijs Osokins signs to Only Stage Management

Management agency Only Stage announces the signing of pianist Georgijs Osokins. The young and talented Latvian musician joins an international roster of soloists, conductors and composers, including Oleg Caetani, Sumi Jo, Gabriel Prokofiev, Maxim Rysanov and Charlie Siem.

The 27-year-old first gained international attention following his success in the International Chopin Piano Competition in 2015, where he quickly became an audience favourite, with Gramophone Magazine declaring that he presented “the day’s most strikingly individual interpretations. Indeed, his epic sense of time scale is akin to Emil Gilels”. Before the finals had concluded, he had received multiple offers for recitals and recordings across three continents. Osokins’ international reputation has only continued to grow, culminating in his appointment as the first permanent Guest Artist of Kremerata Baltica in its 25-year history in 2020, alongside Lucas Debargue.

Since 2018, Osokins has actively collaborated with Gidon Kremer, touring with him across Europe, Asia and the US. He has come to be known in the industry as Kremer’s protégé: indeed, the grand master once said: “I regard this young pianist as someone close to me – a highly gifted musician. He has a big future.”

Georgijs Osokins said: “I’m thrilled to join Only Stage and begin my collaboration with the enchanting Susanna Caetani who shares my vision towards the Art. I look forward to our search for music and what I am sure will be a very creative and innovative partnership.”

Susanna Stefani Caetani, President of Only Stage, said: "Last year I attended a concert at Wigmore Hall where Georgijs Osokins was playing with Gidon Kremer. Georgijs’ ability to transfix the audience with his musicianship makes it clear to me that this young man stands out among his contemporaries. His capacity to convey the myriad emotions of a piece, combined with his amazing technique and the right dose of unpredictability make him a rare talent. Everyone at Only Stage is delighted to support him on what we are sure will be an amazing artistic path."
