May 15th | Lü Jia conducting “Dimension of Mozart II” at NCPA Beijing with Ning Feng, Antje Weithaas
Lü Jia will conduct the China NCPA Orchestra in “Dimension of Mozart II” at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.
The programme is entirely dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and opens with the Symphony No. 36 in C major, K. 425 “Linz”, a brilliant and energetic work written during Mozart’s stay in the Austrian city.
The concert will continue with the Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major, K. 364, performed by Antje Weithaas viola and Ning Feng violin. One of Mozart’s most refined works for solo instruments and orchestra, the piece creates a balanced dialogue between the two soloists, combining virtuosity and chamber-like intimacy.
After the intermission, Lü Jia and the China NCPA Orchestra will perform Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550, among the composer’s most celebrated symphonic works.
