July 15th – 20th | Lü Jia conducting Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at NCPA Beijing
The prestigious China NCPA Orchestra and Chorus, under the direction of our conductor Lü Jia, will bring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro to life on the stage of the NCPA in Beijing.
Le Nozze di Figaro, composed in 1786 with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, is widely acclaimed as one of the most perfect operas ever written. Adapted from Beaumarchais' eponymous play, the opera captures the revolutionary spirit of the Enlightenment, satirizing the hypocrisy of the aristocracy and celebrating the wit and resilience of the common people.
This NCPA production, first premiered in 2013, will be presented in French, with Chinese and English subtitles.
