Marcus Bosch

July 3rd – 25th | Marcus Bosch conducting Verdi’s “Otello” at Opernfestspiele Heidenheim

Marcus Bosch will conduct Giuseppe Verdi’s Otello at Opernfestspiele Heidenheim

The opera, with a libretto by Arrigo Boito after William Shakespeare, will be performed in Italian with German surtitles.

Considered one of the culminating works of Italian Romantic opera, Otello brings together passion, jealousy and deception in a powerful dramatic structure, moving towards a through-composed form in which individual numbers gradually dissolve.

The production is directed by Rosetta Cucchi, with set design and video by Matthias Kronfuss, costumes by Claudia Pernigotti and lighting design by Hartmut Litzinger.

With Sung Kyu Park as Otello, Marian Pop as Jago, Camille Schnoor as Desdemona, Adam Sánchez as Cassio, and the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno with the Stuttgart Philharmonic.
