June 21st | Marcus Bosch – Rossini’s “Petite Messe solennelle” in Heidenheim
Marcus Bosch will conduct Rossini’s “Petite Messe solennelle” at Pauluskirche in Heidenheim, as part of the Opernfestspiele Heidenheim.
Composed in the final years of Rossini’s life, more than three decades after his last opera Guillaume Tell, the Petite Messe solennelle is one of the composer’s most singular sacred works. Written for soloists, choir, piano and harmonium, the piece combines spiritual reflection with Rossini’s unmistakable theatrical sensibility.
For this church concert, Marcus Bosch will lead an ensemble featuring Sophie Gordeladze soprano, Julia Rutigliano alto, Musa Nkuna tenor and Marian Pop bass, together with the Chor der vocapella and members of the Junger Kammerchor Ostwürttemberg.
The performance will also feature Kyubin Chung piano and Ina Stoertzenbach harmonium.
