November 6th – 8th | Sergei Nakariakov with the Orchestra Fondazione Arena di Verona
Sergei Nakariakov will perform three concerts in Verona and Schio, Italy, alongside the Orchestra Fondazione Arena di Verona, conducted by Dmitri Jurowski.
The performances mark Nakariakov's debut with the orchestra and feature Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, one of the central works of the classical trumpet repertoire. Originally composed in 1803, the concerto combines lyrical passages with brilliant virtuosity, offering a showcase for Nakariakov's technical command and expressive range.
The programme also includes Johannes Brahms' Serenade No. 2 in A major, Op. 16, an orchestral composition distinguished by its unusual instrumentation, which excludes violins and creates a particularly warm and dark orchestral texture.
The two concerts at Verona's Teatro Filarmonico will additionally feature Franz Schubert's Overture in D major, D. 590, “In the Italian Style”, completing a programme that spans the transition from Classicism to Romanticism.
Following the performances in Verona, the orchestra and soloist will present the programme in Schio as part of the Schio Musica concert season.
