Simon Zhu will perform at the Gower Festival with pianist Gordon Back at St Peter’s Church, Newton.
First prize-winner of the Paganini and Menuhin Competitions, Simon Zhu will present a programme including Bach’s famous Chaconne from the Partita No. 2 in D minor and a selection of Paganini’s Caprices.
Together with Gordon Back, he will also perform Ravel’s jazz-inspired Sonata No. 2 for violin and piano, Schubert’s Grand Duo and Wieniawski’s Fantasie on themes from Gounod’s Faust. The concert will also mark Gordon Back’s farewell appearance as a performer at the Gower Festival.
