May 07th – 10th | Stepan Armasar conducting Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini with Mischa Maisky
Our Stepan Armasar will conduct the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini replacing Han-Na Chang in “Oltre il nuovo mondo”, with Mischa Maisky as soloist.
The concert programme brings together contemporary music and major works from the symphonic repertoire. The evening will open with “Nature’s Cry” by Martino Traversa, a new commission by La Toscanini for the Ecosounds project, followed by Tchaikovsky’s Lensky Aria Kuda, kuda from Evgenij Onegin, in a transcription for cello and orchestra.
Mischa Maisky will also perform Camille Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 33. The programme will conclude with Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, “From the New World”, one of the composer’s most celebrated works.
