Welcome on board to the British conductor Alice Farnham!

Listed in the Classic FM Today's Ten Best Women Conductors and in the BBC Woman's Hour Music Power List, Alice Farnham is a British Conductor and trained at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire with the legendary pedagogue Ilya Musin.

Guest conducting includes the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (The Fireworkmaker's Daughter),Mariinsky Theatre (The Rape of Lucretia),Calgary Opara (Norma, 50th Jubilee Gala), Folkoperan (Turandot, Satyagraha, Carmen), Wermlands Opera (Bernstein on Broadway), Grange Park Opera (Falstaff, I Capuleti e i Montecchi),Teatru Manoel Valetta (Dido & Aeneas).

Alice is passionate about training young singers and instrumentalists and recent productions Royal Academy of Music (Gianni Schicchi, L’Heure Espagnole, Le Nozze di Figaro) Guildhall School of Music & Drama (La Fedeltà Premiata) and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (The Gondoliers, Die Fledermaus).  She was Music Director of Welsh National Youth Opera for the critically acclaimed and award-winning productions of Maxwell-Davies’ Kommilitonen! and Britten’s Paul Bunyan and Shostakovich's Cheryomushki. 

Particularly interested in innovative and cross-genre productions, in 2016 Alice conducted the opera/dance hybrid Carmen Moves and Philip Glass' Satygraha with Cirkus Cikör at Folkoperan Stockholm. In 2019 she conducted a ground-breaking authentic audience participation performance of Mozart's Paris Symphony with the BBC Concert Orchestra and presenter Tom Service.
